This is my first time posting a problem because I can't find the answer anywhere. I will post my modlist below. So, some days ago my modded Skyrim SE started to randomly crash to desktop. At first maybe only 2-3 times during an evening. And more and more so now maybe even after 30 sec. I have not made any changes or modifications during this time. It can happen both inside and outside. The game is allways running smoothly until it crashes.
There is absolutely no pattern to the crashes as I can see. Often I am just running around. I have LOOTed and SSEdited so there are no more warnings. SKSE64 is updated. Now here is the weird thing - Today I decided to start the game using the original skyrim shortcut on my desktop from steam and not SKSE64 and it worked. The game runs smoothly, I think all the mods are working and it's not crashing anymore. Only two issues - the icons in my inventory are all the same (boxes) so I guess my inventory mod is not working that well.
Also, whenever I am looting a body or barrel or anything the game freezes for about two seconds before I can see the contents. So here is my modlist fom NNM. Icons in the Inventory Issue: this issue is very likely caused by not running SKSE64 - as SkyUi Requires SKSE64 to function properly. Run the script in this thread. I see a couple of ref heavy mods in your list.I didn't run the script because it looked too advanced for me. But reading on the page about there being a reference cap in the game and also what you said about saves becoming more bloated as you progress through the game, I figured that I should try to delete a mod and see if there was a difference. So I deleted Dawnstar Overhaul because it seems big and I didn't really like it, anyway. After that I played all evening without a single ctd =D.

Isn't starting a new character in an RPG the best? Sure, it's great being a high-level badass with an arsenal of weapons and spells and enough loot to choke a dragon. But there's something about starting over from scratch, when every rusty dagger is a priceless treasure and every minor monster is a genuine threat. Let's all start a new character in, and let's all use the mod.
It makes starting over an adventure in itself.Skyrim Unbound is designed to give you a fresh start to the game. You've played through the original Helgen opener enough, right?
You've been the Dragonborn plenty of times. You've slain so many dragons you need to build an extra room on your house just to store their bones. This time, let's skip all that. You can save the world later.
For now, let's just get busy living in it.When you start a new game, you'll see the Skyrim title card, and then a notification to visit the mod configuration menu. There, you can select the options you want to start your game with.
You can pick a specific starting point, the place in the world your new character will appear, or just specify the type of area you'd like to start in (city, town, wilderness, inn, even a jail cell). Don't care where you start, or want to be surprised? Leave it on random, and the game will decide. There are several types of characters to choose from: you can be a hunter/explorer, a warrior, a mage, a merchant/traveler, a thief/assassin, and even a beggar.
The type of character you pick will determine the type of gear and clothing you begin with. A hunter will have a bow, a mage will have a staff and a couple spells, a warrior will have a starter set of armor and a nice big melee weapon, a merchant will have a fat purse of gold. A beggar, naturally, will have just some ragged clothing and a few coins. None of this modifies your actual stats, just your starting gear, and you'll still get to customize your character's race, gender, and appearance before you begin playing. As far as dragons themselves go, you've got a number of options. You can turn them off completely, allowing yourself to pretend they have not yet awoken. You can activate just the scripted dragon encounters (which take place at word walls and burial grounds) so you'll still have a few dragons to slay.
Or, you can turn on the random encounters as well, so they'll appear in the game as they usually do.You can turn dragon soul absorption off, allowing you to fight and kill dragons without absorbing their souls, as if you were a run-of-the-mill adventurer instead of the fabled Dragonborn. Best of all, you can always adjust your dragon options later, meaning you won't be married to any particular dragon-related setup. If you do want to become the Dragonborn at some point in your game, just enable the dragons, absorb a dragon soul, and then visit those old guys on the top of the mountain. That'll kick off the main Skyrim quest. And, until then, no one will accuse you of being the Dragonborn. If you don't want to choose a character class or starting spot, the mod is happy to do it for you.
Just launch the game with everything set on random, and see what happens. Once I spawned as a warrior at a campsite. A couple hunters were staring at me as if I just stepped out of the gloom to warm my hands at their fire. Another time, I appeared as a thief inside a fort filled with bandits, as if I'd just snuck in to loot the place. Another character of mine appeared at a tavern, as if he were just another weary traveler looking for a drink before going on his way. It's fun, and it lends itself to role-playing and building a little story for your new character. Who are they?
What are they doing here? And, where are they going next? One time I got a merchant character who started in a jail cell. Perhaps he'd been doing some shady dealings.
Maybe he was more of a con man, a thief in merchant's clothing. I've already got a story for him.
Another time, I appeared as as an assassin in the town of Rorikstead. I could only assume I was there to murder one of the residents. Another time, I spawned near a Forsworn settlement near Morthal, and they immediately attacked. Now my character is committed to wiping out the Forsworn. Whoops, no, he's dead.
But if he hadn't died, he'd totally have a story!Skyrim Unbound is a great way to kick off a new adventure. (I only wish I'd had it back when I wrote.) Leave the Dragonborn stuff aside for the moment, roll up a new character, and see where they land. It won't be long before you've created a new story and are living a new life.Installation: Two choices here. When you start a new game, you'll be presented with a series of prompts on the type of character you want, where you'd like to be placed in the world, and so on.To get the most out of this mod, however, you'll, which means also installing and launching the game with (long-ish video on how to ). This will allow you to configure the mod through the menu screen and change your dragon-related options later in the game.
This is how I used the mod for this column, and I definitely recommend using it alongside SkyUI and SKSE.
Random Start Mod Skyrim 4
Despite the mountain of incredible 2017 games I still need to play, I am once again back on my Skyrim nonsense. I reinstalled it over the weekend and I’m still in the process of adding all 10,000 mods that I simply cannot live without, including many featured in our list. I might need to add another, however, at least when the gargantuan mod launches later this year. The Lordbound team is aiming to make an expansion-sized mod with around 30 hours of new adventures, including fancy dungeons, three non-linear faction storylines and an entirely new region of Skyrim, Druadach Valley, located near High Rock, which is also where Daggerfall took place. When it launches this year, the mod will throw players into a conflict between Orcs and the Imperial Legion as they fight over who gets to stick their flag in the area. The latest trailer showcases some of the mod’s environments, including some striking magical ruins and weird Dwemer caverns.I used to avoid the massive mods that added whole new areas to the game because it can be a bit of a hassle trying to figure out what mods they’re going to conflict with, but after playing Beyond Skyrim’s surprisingly polished, which introduces the northern Cyrodiil town to the game, I’ve been won over. Thank goodness for kind souls making compatibility patches.Cheers,.
Hello everyone! Here's the thing, I've played Skyrim for many years and, after some time and lil' upgrades to my reaally old PC, I've decided to take another run in Oldrim, with a lot more mods that my previous gameplay. But, suddenly, I'm having a lot of random CTD (as with any newbie modder). Some of them happen in particular places, while others can happen anytime, and are not preceded by any stuter/freeze/lag/glitch.
I have to take another route when I'm near any Fort, especially if there's someone fighting there (soldiers or necromages), and I don't even have any mod that changes Civil War questline or anything.Other CTD's happens in certain AREAS (even 'untouched' vanilla ones) and I have to completely avoid them, and that's making the game unplayable since I don't use fast travel and, when travelling from one hold to another, the game always finds some point where it will crash. These CTD also don't have any time pattern, since they can happen after 2, 10, 30 or even 60 minutes of play.

I frequently use Skyrim Performance Monitor and the crashs never happen after peaks of VRAM busting the 2GB limit. All mods work correctly and I've almost had no crashes when calling any mod function (Campfire, Frostfall, TK Dodge.)I take myself as a newbie in modding, but I do everything to try and keep the game stable: Mods cleaned by TES5Edit, some plugins merged in Bashed Patch and load order sorted by LOOT. All textures packs installed are either basic/light versions or 1k instead of 2k, with Optimized Textures.
ENB used is Stakado Cinemascope with all performance tweaks (Skyrim configs in the launcher are Low). Up to date SKSE and FNIS. Already tried playing with only ENBooster, to no avail. Skyrim Se Random Start
Prior to this, Open Cities ( and some other mods ) Skyrim had little trouble operating in the available memory the game provided. In order to configure SKSE 1.7 to resolve this problem, you simply need to make sure your skse.ini file in Data/SKSE contains at least the following lines:MemoryDefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768ScrapHeapSizeMB=256If it's not there just make a blank TXT document, add the 3 lines above, and save it as SKSE.ini @ Data/skseiirc that's the SKSE Memory Patch right? I know it's already in-built in the latest SKSE version. Besides, I think I've opened the skse.ini before to see if it had these lines. Maybe I could tweak those values a little more to help?. I use NMM, so I don't have that 'VirtualInstall' folder. Can I disable them all and still not mess with my current save, just for testing in a new game?
Just disable the plugins?I'll do that. It took me a lot of time to mod the game and, even after some tests, I had crashes only after 12 hours of gameplay (bad, but bearable).I've played a little more this weekend and, after googling a lot about Papyrus and checking their logs after my CTD's, I've deactivated (MCM only, I know it's dangerous to uninstall mods mid-play) some mods and managed to run the game 'ok' after I got stuck in travelling to Solitude. But then, after some time, I engaged into a fight with 4 dragons at the same time.Everything was fine and nice, I even killed one of them.
But then, I saved and crashed again. Now I can't even play for 15 seconds and boom. Starting to ask if it's my graphics card SPM shows my GPU% bursting the 100% limit but the crash happen 5 seconds after that, and still, it's triggered when I attack the dragon (mainly with a bow). After checking the log, I see that Papyrus was running ok, besides the flawed scripts that it always contains some errors.
I mean, in the first CTD Frostfall had just been checked and the last line of the log is 'Frostfall checks ok' (somethin' like that), different that the other crashes I had, where the last lines of the logs were similar between them. But still, it's strange, even if I don't have a super rig, I've seen people with less powerful hardware play swiftly with lots of texture packages, 2k and all.Edited by RaidenHF, 21 January 2019 - 09:51 AM.
